Booking with Bonjeo

How does booking work if I can’t pay online?

Deliberately, actually. You send an enquiry, a real person replies within one working day with availability and a clear written quote, and nothing is charged until you’ve seen everything in writing and decided to go ahead. High-value, fixed-date trips deserve a human check, not a checkout button.

What happens after I enquire?

A real person replies within one working day with availability for your dates and party size, a clear written quote, and answers to anything you’ve asked. No payment is taken at enquiry, and there’s no obligation.

How do deposits and payments work?

A fixed deposit secures your place and the balance is due ahead of travel. The exact deposit amount and payment schedule are shown in writing before you commit to anything.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellation terms are written out in plain language before you pay anything, no surprises buried in small print. You’ll see the full conditions before any money changes hands.

Is Bonjeo a real company?

Yes, Bonjeo is a small independent company run by people who actually attend these events, working with established local operators in Brazil. You’ll deal with a named human from first enquiry to the trip itself.

Trips and availability

Why are most events waitlist-only?

We only open a trip when the tickets, hotels and our local host are confirmed. Right now that’s Rio Carnival 2027. Joining a waitlist or first-access list costs nothing and simply means you hear from us first when an event opens.

Why only Brazil?

Because depth beats breadth. Our hosts and partners are on the ground in Brazil, which is how we can promise real Sambadrome seats, the right neighborhoods and someone to call at 3am. One country, done properly, that’s the whole idea.

What does “waitlist” actually mean?

It means we’re not selling that event right now, either it’s full or we’re not ready to fulfil it to our standard. Joining the list is free, carries no obligation, and puts you first in line when places open.

Will you add more events?

Yes, deliberately slowly, and Brazil-first. Réveillon in Copacabana, Salvador Carnival, São Paulo Carnival, Festa Junina, Parintins and Rock in Rio are all on our list; each opens only when we have the tickets, hotels and on-the-ground support to run it properly. First-access lists hear before anything is announced publicly.

Traveling to Brazil

Do I need a visa for Brazil?

Entry rules depend on your passport, and they change. We walk every guest through exactly what to apply for and when, well before travel, so nobody gets caught out at the airport.

Is Rio safe during Carnival?

Rio is a huge city hosting millions of visitors during Carnival, and like any big city it rewards common sense, keep phones tucked away in crowds, use registered transport, follow your host’s guidance on where and when. Our packages are built around that: parade-night transport is included, the hotel is in the right neighborhood, and your host knows the city. We’ll also send straightforward safety notes before you fly.

Can you arrange international flights?

Our packages cover everything on the ground, international flights are not included, so you can use points, preferred airlines or existing plans. We’ll tell you exactly which arrival and departure windows to book around.

How much spending money should I budget?

Beyond your package you’ll want a daily budget for meals not included, drinks and small purchases. We share honest, current guidance in your pre-trip notes, along with tipping norms. Cards are widely accepted in Rio.

Money and protection

Is my payment protected?

Every quote is written, itemized and agreed before any payment, and no payment is ever taken at enquiry. Your booking and payment are completed with the trip’s operating partner, and the full terms, including cancellation conditions, are shown in writing before you pay anything.

What currency do you charge in?

All prices on this site are quoted in US dollars (USD), and your quote and payment schedule are in USD too.

Do you offer payment plans?

A fixed deposit secures your place, with the balance due ahead of travel on a written schedule you see before committing. Exact instalment options are confirmed in your written quote.

Ready when you are, see Rio Carnival 2027. No payment taken at enquiry.
